Hi, my name is Lee, and I love to travel with my family. I’ve been married for a few years, and we have a couple of kids and two dogs.
I currently work for a bank in their Finance Department but daydream about being financially independent so I can quit the 9-to-5 so I can hang out with the kids, travel, and work on the blog. Basically, I’m saving & investing every penny I can, while paying off debt as quickly as possible, to make early retirement a reality.
We are fortunate to travel quite a bit… so much so that my wife keeps running out of vacation days. Luckily for me, she says “go ahead and go on vacation, but take the kids with you.”
So far, I’ve traveled quite a bit with Timmy or Scarlett one at a time. From March 2016 to April 2017, I’ve taken Timmy solo to Hawaii, Cabo, Costa Rica, Stockholm, Mammoth Mountain, and Grand Cayman.
And Scarlett’s first solo trip with me was to Milwaukee when she was 21 months in January 2017. As Scarlett gets a little older and more independent from Mommy, she’ll go on, even more, adventures with me.
I haven’t been brave enough to travel solo with both at the same time though. But that time is coming… soon.
I created SoloTravelDad.com to inspire Dads of all ages to travel with their kids. Hopefully, Mom can come along for the adventure, but it is OK if she can’t… go anyways!!!
Join us and follow along on our adventures. I’ll share my tips and tricks on how I plan & afford awesome vacations for me and the kids while keeping my sanity when Murphy’s Law eventually happens.
